I wasn't going to share this link until I'd cleared out my message center, posted certain posts and other things... but I got excited and couldn't help myself.

Gasarasrevolution is finally back up after a long time languishing in the shadow of deviantART. I decided that it was time to finally dig him out, brush him off, and share him with the world once again.

The new design is very simple and the site very lightweight. It's very much a portfolio rather than a community site. You'll find illustrations and book information over there but none of the random scribbles and silliness that goes on here. deviantART will still be the first place to get all the news and polls and, y'know, art but it's nice to have a more polished site as well.

The design, of course, is very nice! You have a perfect sense for colour harmony, an exceptional skill of yours which I highly admire. But I must admit - I find the width of your layout a bit too narrow. On my screen, which is quite small compared to the most common laptop screens, only a bit more than the half usable area is being occupied by the content of the site - the other half remains empty.

I would recommend you use at least 960px, not 850px as it is now. Why that much? Check this - [link] Of course, this is simply a suggestion, maybe there are better solutions. But I really think that if you expanded the width of the content area and the size of the thumbnails (so that they can show more content), it would make a significant change in your design.

Having said that, I really enjoy your simplified design - it is fresh and clear, easy to navigate and full of your beautiful art! I hope that pointing out the only think that I believe that it can be improved is not offending you. I will still enjoy your site to the fullest if you decide to leave it as it is
