Journal Skin Customisation Tutorial by Gasara Journal Skin Customisation Tutorial by Gasara
EDIT: Installing journal skins is now a one click process. Simply click on the Install to Journal button and you will be redirected to your journal entry page with your shiny new skin already in place. Awesomes.
I will edit the tutorial with this update shortly. ^^

This tutorial will hopefully help you get started with installing and editing journal skins. It has been made for the Sweet Vintage skin but can be applied to other skins too.

Suitable for beginners and those of you with some knowledge of CSS.

I edited the journal skin and the background is cutting off half way. I can't figure out why. I even doubled the background image to make it twice as long but it didn't work.
If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated<3…

Thank you so much! Even though I have no idea what CSS is XD
This still helped! The comment bellow this asking about something...helped too! I just erased the URL and I pasted the one I want which was…

I know it sounds stupid but like I said, I don't know what CSS is.

You're welcome, my dear!

Ah, no, it's not stupid at all. Basically, in web design, CSS is code is used to style elements in web pages. It can be used to add colour to text, to define the size of columns, set background images, all kinds of things. If you've never looked at coding before then it might seem confusing but once you start playing around with it you'll find that it's really quite simple. It's just one of those things to have to practice and you'll soon pick it up.

Hi, im with a problem!
I tryed lots of time put a background, but give tis error
CSS Error:
Brackets in values - other than url(...), rgb(...), rgba(...) - are disallowed (token: url (… repeat-x top)
I do no whats wrong.
Its like that on my codes:
.journalbox {
color: #ff77aa;
text-align: center;
background: url (… repeat-x top ;
I did everything! Changed from jpg to png, picked other image, deleted repeat-x top..
help me pwease! :c

I think your problem was caused by a space between url and ( in the code. There should be no space between them. You can either delete the space or replace your code with the following snippet and it should work.

.journalbox {
color: #ff77aa;
text-align: center;
background: url( repeat-x top;
